SUSTAINABILITY IS NOT A CHOICE
IT’S OUR FUNDAMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY

Climate change, supply-chain disruption, pressure on natural resources, and growing uncertainty around producer livelihoods are already shaping the long-term future of coffee. At LIX Roastery, sustainability is treated as a fundamental condition for building a supply chain that can remain resilient, consistent, and valuable across seasons.

It begins at Origin. Alongside physical quality, sensory performance, traceability, and supply stability, LIX Roastery evaluates the wider conditions behind each source: transparency in commercial relationships, responsibility toward producing communities, environmental and ecosystem impact, and the ability of producers to sustain their livelihoods over time.

Data is the foundation of fairness. We disclose available and verifiable traceability data, from origin and agronomic information to purchasing-price structures (FOB/Farm-gate) where such data can be reliably documented.

Responsibility lies not in promises, but in cash flow. LIX Roastery prioritizes long-term purchasing relationships designed to provide greater commercial stability for producing partners and reduce exposure to short-term market volatility.

Shade-grown cultivation, soil health, and circular packaging solutions are among the practices and indicators we prioritize to support the reduction of environmental impact across the value chain.

That responsibility continues as coffee moves through product development, roasting, quality control, packaging, traceability, and market preparation. Our role is to keep Origin visible throughout that journey – preserving the information, people, decisions, and work that give each lot its value.

For LIX Roastery, sustainability means sustaining quality, supply, relationships, and the value of Origin over the long term. This is why Transparency. Responsibility. Sustainability. sits at the core of how we work with coffee, partners, and markets.

The origin

Every LIX Roastery product begins with a clear understanding of its source. Vietnam is an important focus within our sourcing strategy, while our network continues to grow across coffee-producing regions worldwide through farmers, producers, cooperatives, exporters, and green coffee partners.

Each lot is evaluated through physical quality, sensory profile, region, variety, crop, processing method, traceability, and supply stability. We also consider the wider conditions behind the source – transparency in commercial relationships, responsibility toward producing communities, environmental impact, and the long-term continuity of producer livelihoods.

For LIX Roastery, Origin is a living body of information about where coffee begins, who shapes it, and what gives each lot its value.

THE LAB

The Lab turns raw-material information into a working basis for product development and quality control. Each lot is evaluated through moisture, density, bean size, physical defects, and sensory profile, while cupping helps verify cleanliness, structure, balance, and the characteristics that should remain visible throughout development.

After roasting, QC continues through Agtron color references, destoning and magnetic separation, alongside cupping and batch-level quality records for every Roast Batch.

The Lab gives LIX Roastery a consistent data framework to compare, adjust, and monitor product performance from green coffee through commercial production.

THE ROASTERY

LIX Roastery applies Extremely Light as the unified roasting principle across its commercial portfolio. Every profile is built around the coffee itself – its structure, moisture, density, processing method, and actual response to heat. Energy input, airflow, Rate of Rise, First Crack, and development are managed as an interconnected system so the coffee can develop fully while keeping its Origin recognizable in the cup.

Development moves through green coffee evaluation, sample roasting, profile building, production roasting, and sensory validation. The principle remains consistent throughout: roasting should reveal the Origin, not overwrite it.

After roasting, product quality continues to be protected through packaging and logistics. Export-oriented packaging combines a one-way valve with Nitrogen Flushing to manage degassing, reduce oxygen exposure, and help preserve the coffee through storage, transportation, and distribution.

At LIX, roasting and post-roast protection operate as one continuous system: develop the coffee with precision, validate the result, and protect it on its way to market.
